    JOB TITLE: Grants Coordinator
    DEPARTMENT: Community Development
    FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Salaried, Competitive Class

    General Statement of Duties: Helps facilitate the planning, preparation, and administration of various grants, as assigned by the Development Director and/or City Manager. Interacts with staff to develop project budgets and ensure that grants and funded projects are administered in compliance with regulatory and funding agency requirements.

    Job Features: Skilled planning and administrative professional position, which involves being a creative and innovative thinker, who actively pursues new opportunities and solutions on behalf of the City and its departments.

    Essential Functions Include: • Development of yearly and intermittent grant proposals to Federal, State, and local governmental agencies, nonprofits, and private foundations. • Assistance in the fiscal and programmatic administration of certain grant programs, as directed by the Development Director, from inception to completion, including, but not limited to environmental reviews, grant-related project bidding, contracting, administration, coordination and contract closeout. • Identification and research of potential funding sources and opportunities available to the City and development of recommendations of such to the Development Director and City Manager. • Assistance to the Development Director in the outreach and coordination with other City departments to ensure desirable planning, redevelopment, growth, and public relations of the community. • Attending related training, as required, including all out-of-town meetings deemed relevant and important to the City’s work programs, as requested by the Development Director and/or the City Manager.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Excellent written and oral communication skills and being a focused listener. • Proficiency in researching, interpreting and analyzing diverse data. • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and data management skills. • Strong organization and project management skills. • Experience in grantsmanship and grant administration, preferable with a government focus. pg. 2 March 2025 • Ability to anticipate challenges and effectively resolve potential issues through creative problem solving. • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to multi-task on many different fronts at one time. • Ability to maintain cordial working relationships with other departments, agencies and organizations, both inside and outside of the City.

    Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in planning, public administration, or business, from a college or university of recognized standing, and at least one (1) years’ experience in grant writing and administration. A combination of relevant experience and training which provides the required skills and abilities may be substituted. Must possess a valid PA driver’s license.

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, work on a computer, and drive. Sensory abilities, including speaking, hearing, seeing (20/20 vision or corrected vision), and visual acuity depth perception are also required. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to the 25 pounds.
